Bamboo, Plum And Pine

So the story goes...the Three Friends of Winter, the plum, bamboo and pine represent  Longevity, perseverance, and courage because of their ability to withstand even the harshest of winters.  The evergreen qualities of pine and bamboo, added to the early flowering of the plum makes them symbols of strength that have been depicted in Chinese and Japanese art for many years. I was intrigued by this story and decided to add my version as well.

So the Plum, Bamboo and Pine have survived a very harsh winter and are ready for spring!
